This training is designed to help participants learn how to understand and identify signs of addiction and mental illness.
About this event
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This course will teach you practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. Attendees will learn about risk factors and warning signs for non-suicidal self-injury, warning signs of substance-abuse dependence, and the MHFA action plan for individuals addicted to substances. On completion, you will be a certified Mental Health First Aider. This course is offered online.
There are two components to virtual Mental Health First Aid:
Live 5.5 hour course led by instructors on day of training
Online 2-hour self-paced curriculum which is to be completed BEFORE training
